Own it

Crazy Dog Lady Blog

This is to the girl who is hiding her inner most feelings. This is to the girl silently crying herself to sleep tonight. This is for the guy who’s tired of all the pointless drama. This is to whomever is not being true to themselves. I have this policy. I just say whatever rolls off my tongue. I don’t conceal my feelings and I communicate my emotions. I don’t know if anyone has ever told you lately but EVERYTHING you feel is valid. Every single emotion that crosses your mind is apart of who you are and should not be taken lightly. You are a person worth taking seriously and expressing yourself is healthy. Don’t ever allow someone to steal your light. It happens so often, people get themselves into a situation that dampens their mood. They get caught up in the social norms and forget that no one is…

What do you ache for?

What do you ache for? What drives you? What are you passionate about?
Those the first few questions I think of when I meet someone. Small talk doesn’t interest me. I want to get below the surface and see who a person really is on the inside. I want to see the waves of their personality and feel the splash of their passion. I want to see the face that is speaking so passionate and unabridged the world disappears. I want to experience the realness. We live in a world today that is so focused on outward appearances that being authentic or different is frowned upon.

What I ache for is a difficult question, I ache to be understood. I ache for deep talks. I ache for something that I can’t even explain.. It’s more of a feeling, a late night talk that fuels the fire to your soul. The desire open myself up allowing the good and bad out. I want to let it dance to the music of my thoughts and have someone else understand and value it. I ache to see the beauty in everything ugly, to respect life and people. I want to live wholly and happily.

Update on life

Life as we know it seems to always be changing. Throughout the last few months we have added a new addition to our chow chow family. Bear is another blonde chow chow like my Rhea (aka allergy dog). He just turned a year old 23/10/14. He is a doll.

Throughout the summer Rhea lost her best friend, Tess the bloodhound, from a hit & run with a truck. Since adding to our pack both dogs seem to be thriving. Bear was a city dog. He was kept inside only (weighing in at 44lbs) and had never had the opportunity to play out side or get dirty or even chase a bird. His whole demeanor has changed and he has blossomed. The the yang to Rhea’s yin.

I have started an all natural approach to Rhea’s immunotherapy using young living essential oils on her and myself. I have had great success using them personally and am continuing to further my education on aromatherapy for pets.

13 Things Homebodies Say And What They Actually Mean

This is totally me!

Thought Catalog

New Girl: Season 2New Girl: Season 2

1. (After being asked, “What are your plans today?”) “Nothing.”

Contrary to popular belief, “nothing” can actually mean something. Technically the homebody could’ve said “I do have plans” because doing absolutely nothing was in fact their itinerary. Lounging around lazily? Yeah, I penned that in my schedule weeks ago, and I’m currently knee deep in nothing, aka unavailable.

2. “…                                  …”

^^That’s complete silence, which is usually the response you get when you text or call a homebody with some kind of invitation that they don’t want to officially decline.

3. “Hey what’s up? Sorry, I was sleeping when you text/called me!”

This is the lie that follows the complete silence mentioned in the previous point. You’ll get this several hours after your initial attempt at contact, when the homebody is…

To The Girl Who Thinks She Has To Settle

This is so true! I am blessed to have found the right man!

You are always enough for the man that’s meant to love you. You won’t have to put on makeup in fear that you might not be beautiful because with the right man you’ll never have to worry. You’ll never have to worry when he’s out with his friends and you’ll never have to worry if you’re the only one. With the right man you won’t have doubts. He’ll always reassure you because he knows about your past heartbreaks and how they’ve left scars.

With the right man he’ll find things about you that you’ve never noticed before; like the way you scrunch your face when you look in the mirror or the way you sound when you’re about to eat after a long day. He’ll take you to places that he knows you’ll like and he’ll open the doors for you just like a…

What It’s Like To Be In Love When You Have Depression

This was so moving!!

Thought Catalog

“No one will love you until you learn to love yourself” is an easy enough phrase to believe is true. But it’s terrifying, especially when you have depression. What if you never learn? As a teenager, it made me fear for my life as an adult. I was certain I would never be capable of being in a relationship, but I was very wrong. Honestly, I do not like myself very much, and in August of 2013, a boy fell very, very much in love with me.

I have dealt with depression for as long as I can remember. I’ve been on and off medications, been to therapy, but it’s still alive and well, comfortable in its home in my bones. I can feel it every day, a tiny inkling that causes breathtaking emotional pain at the most inconvenient of times.

My depression doesn’t care that I am in a…

A Response to ‘Women Against Feminism.’

Imagine this:

The year is 2014. You are a white Western woman. You wake up in the morning in a comfortably sized house or flat. You have a full or part-time job that enables you to pay your rent or mortgage. You have been to school and maybe even college or university as well. You can read and write and count. You own a car or have a driver’s licence. You have enough money in your own bank account to feed and clothe yourself. You have access to the Internet. You can vote. You have a boyfriend or girlfriend of your choosing, who you can also marry if you want to, and raise a family with. You walk down the street wearing whatever you feel like wearing. You can go to bars and clubs and sleep with whomever you want.

Your world is full of freedom and possibility.

Then you…

I’m a Taurus

I am definitely a Taurus! This was an interesting read and beautifully expressed.

Mein Herz Brennt

Well, since my birthday is coming up on 28th I thought about writing about astrological signs and how they are interpreted. By astrology I’m a Taurus and here’s some information about a Taurus woman:

The Taurus woman is feminine, soft and highly diplomatic. She has a lyrical speaking voice that soothes and comforts you, and she could even have a talented singing voice (Barbara Streisand is a Taurus). Ruled by Venus, Taurus is a sign which adores the arts–from music to painting–and will enthusiastically go to any cultural event her lover suggests. Outwardly, the Taurus woman may appear relaxed and inactive, then all of a sudden she can shudder and a great eruption takes place. The normal somewhat placid and caring nature of the Taurus girl should never be taken for granted. While she is in every way, a very loyal and resolute individual, she should never be deceived or…

Don’t Fall In Love With A Girl Who Reads

I love this post. It is so true!

Thought Catalog

I mean every word of this, more strongly than I feel about anything else. Don’t fall in love with a girl who reads. I wouldn’t.

She will accentuate herself in the essence of Sylvia Plath, hiding it in the layers of her skin. Her body will have scars that Shakespearean tragedies can only rave about. Her fantasies will be grander than the life spent at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Her solace will be in the nights that she spends wrapped up in the arms of Murukami and Bukowski. She will try to search between your lips for words that only Fitzgerald would say, only to be erased later. She will hope for the aching of Vladimir Nobokov to run in your groins. She will secretly wish that Leo Tolstoy could write her your story, even before it ever began.. Her life will never be as vivid and compelling…
